Racking for Orange warehouses
Orange runs a different kind of industrial market from the Inland Empire and the buildings say so. The industrial pocket north of the 22 between the 57 and the 55, around Batavia and Katella, was built decades before today’s tall distribution boxes, and much of it is still in daily use. Clear height there is something you design to. Fewer beam levels means each one has to be placed deliberately, with the top load set against the sprinkler deflector rather than against the roof.
The other constraint is weight. Orange holds the largest concentration of medical facilities in Orange County, with St. Joseph Hospital, CHOC and UC Irvine Medical Center inside the city, and the supply distribution feeding them is small-carton and high-SKU. Alongside it sit much heavier operations: MS International’s natural stone distribution, Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper Snapple bottling, OC Baking, SC Fuels and more. Stone slabs and full beverage pallets put far more load on a beam pair and on the slab underneath than the same cubic footage of cartons does. We size for the unit load that is actually going on the rack and confirm the floor can carry it.
Two approvals stand between a drawing and an installed rack here, and we take both of them through.
Systems we install in Orange
Selective pallet rack
Every pallet reachable from the aisle. The default where the SKU count is high and the pallet count per SKU is low.
Drive-in rack
Forklift drives into the lane. Highest density per square foot, LIFO rotation, one SKU per lane.
Push-back rack
Two to six pallets deep on nested carts. Density without giving up a lane per SKU.
Cantilever rack
Arms instead of beams, for pipe, lumber, tubing and anything that will not sit on a pallet.
Mezzanines
A second level built inside the building. Adds floor area for storage, picking or work space without moving.
Bulk storage and shelving
Hand-stacked cartons on boltless shelving, with wire decks or particleboard.
We also supply wire decks, conveyors, pallet jacks and more.
Rack inspections in Orange
Forklift impact bends uprights, and a bent upright loses capacity long before it looks dangerous. We inspect racking against the manufacturer’s configuration, classify what we find by severity, and give you a written report.
